APPRENTAGO TERMS OF SERVICE

1. INTRODUCTION These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Apprentago platform (the “Platform”), provided by DegreeApprenticeMedia LTD (trading as Apprentago), a company registered in England and Wales (Company No: 14847961).

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR.

By registering for an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.

2. ACCESS & COMPATIBILITY

  • Minimum Age: You must be at least 12 years old to use the Platform. Where required by law, users under the age of 13 must have parental or guardian consent to use the Platform.

  • Location: The Platform is available to residents across the UK.

  • Cross-Platform Compatibility: The Platform is optimized for use on Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, and Mobile devices. The Platform is designed to function across modern web browsers. (Chrome, Safari, Edge, Firefox) to support “Bring Your Own Device” (BYOD) learning in schools.

3. SERVICES & FEATURES 3.1. For Students & Residents

  • Core Features: Access to “Find Apprenticeships & Work Experience,” “Self-Add” Apprenticeships and Work Experience logging, and the Application Tracker.

  • AI Tools: Access to the Apprentago AI Agent (Voice & Text) and AI CV Builder.

    • Note: Our AI Agent is trained on Apprentago data and powered by Google Gemini models to provide career support.

  • Safety: You may report any safeguarding concerns via the “Report” button on your dashboard.

3.2. For Employers

  • Fees: The Platform is Free of Charge for Employers to create profiles and post vacancies.

  • Job Postings: You may upload Apprenticeship and Work Experience opportunities. All listings are subject to a strictly enforced 24-hour manual approval process. We reserve the right to reject listings without explanation.

  • Media: You may host company culture videos (e.g., TikTok-style short form) on your profile, subject to our content moderation standards.

  • Hiring Tools: You may use the built-in Applicant Tracker to manage candidates and book interviews directly.

  • DBS Checks: Apprentago does not conduct Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks on Employers. It remains the statutory duty of the School/College to determine if a specific placement requires a DBS check based on the level of supervision and frequency of contact with the student.

3.3. For Schools & Colleges

  • Student Monitoring: School accounts can only view and monitor students registered with the same email domain (e.g., @schoolname.edu). You cannot view data from other institutions.

  • Where Schools or Colleges provide student data to the Platform: The School or College acts as the Data Controller and Apprentago acts as a Data Processor acting on the School’s instructions.

  • Data Export: You retain full rights to export your own student data at any time.

4. WORK EXPERIENCE & “SELF-ADD” PLACEMENTS (IMPORTANT) The Platform allows students to log their own work experience placements (“Self-Added Placements”) that are sourced independently of Apprentago.

  • No Vetting: Apprentago does not vet, inspect, visit, or insure “Self-Added” employers in a students own work log that they can only view.

  • School Responsibility: It is the sole responsibility of the Student’s School or College to conduct all necessary Health & Safety checks, Risk Assessments, and Safeguarding verifications before approving a placement logged on the system.

  • Disclaimer: Apprentago accepts no liability for any injury, loss, or damage occurring at a work experience placement.

5. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) & DATA USAGE 5.1. AI Safety & Google Gemini

  • Our AI features are powered by Google Cloud and Gemini models, aligned with Google Safety Standards to prevent the generation of harmful or inappropriate content.

  • The AI Agent is designed to be helpful. However, AI can make mistakes (“hallucinations”). You should always verify critical career advice with a human teacher or advisor.

5.2. Data Privacy & Anonymisation

  • Training Data: Data used to improve our AI models is strictly anonymized. We do not use your personally identifiable information (PII) to train public models.

  • No Data Selling: We do not sell your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes.

  • Public Stats: We may use aggregated data (e.g., “5,000 students found placements this year”) for public reporting.

  • Data Retention: We retain student data only for as long as the School account is active or as required by law. When a student leaves the school or requests deletion, their personally identifiable data is permanently erased from our active servers within 30 days.

6. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP)

  • Our IP: Apprentago owns the Platform, the code, the logo, and the database design. You may not copy or reverse-engineer our code.

  • Your IP: You (the Student) retain ownership of the CVs and Personal Statements you create using our tools. You grant us a license to store them so you can access them, but they belong to you.

7. SECURITY & INFRASTRUCTURE

  • Google Cloud Partner: The Platform is hosted on secure Google Cloud infrastructure.

  • Encryption: We utilize Industry-standard Encryption (AES-256) for all data in transit and at rest.

  • Account Security: You are responsible for keeping your password secure. Apprentago is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your login credentials.

8. USER CONDUCT (ZERO TOLERANCE) We operate a Zero Tolerance Policy. You agree NOT to:

  • Upload abusive, sexually explicit, discriminatory, or illegal content.

  • Use the Platform to bully, harass, or intimidate others.

  • Upload malicious code, viruses, or attempt to hack the Platform.

  • Use the Platform to promote extremist views, radicalisation, or hate speech in violation of the Prevent Duty guidance.”

Breach of this policy will result in immediate account termination and, where necessary, reporting to the Police and your Local Authority.

9. THIRD-PARTY LINKS The Platform contains links to external employer websites (e.g., to apply for a job). Apprentago is not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or safety of external websites.

10. LIABILITY

  • Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

  • “As Is” Basis: The Platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind regarding uptime or accuracy of job listings.

  • Limitation: To the extent permitted by law, Apprentago’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms is limited to £500.

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the Platform.

  • We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

 
11. FORCE MAJEURE We shall not be liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to cyber incidents, infrastructure failures, natural disasters, or governmental actions.
 
12. GOVERNING LAW These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
 

13. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the Platform or email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
